SO. GOOD. They have so many good local options to choose from. We got lau lau, lomi salmon, beef stew, and chicken long rice. The kids loved the chicken long rice, and frankly so did I.

Laverne's is one of a handful of my top favorite Lunch Wagons and definitely my top spot for a smoked meat plate. I always get this if we decide to take out from here. Meaty smoky goodness with onions really hits the spot for satisfying that smoke flavor taste cravings! Delicious!!!

I first had Laverne's in 2021 and had no idea what chicken long rice was. Today, I'm back after spending 2 years dreaming about it. I know I will never find this on the main land and I don't know if and when I'll ever come back to Hawai'i but God knows if I do, I'm coming back to Laverne's!!
